About Us

Indigo Boo was created in Kenya in 1995 bringing beautiful handmade fabrics into Kenya from India. Following along the ancient trade routes nothing changed except for the help of jet engines ferrying the fabrics in 24 hours rather than a sea crossing! There in lies the fascination and passion for all the ancient traditional ways of dying and printing that continue today in India.

Indigo Boo moved to the UK in 2005 and decided to launch a women's clothing line to fit in with the type of ladies who lead hectic lives, and need something that fitted in between formal and informal, and could in fact be made to be dressy or casual depending on what was worn with it. The designs are different, but not too different, so they fitted in with most ladies who just want to be that bit different without feeling too overdressed or under dressed. Many of the feedback is that the coats speak for themselves and make the perfect statement.

Some of the fabrics that are used are vintage and others have been dyed and printed especially for Indigo Boo – not to forget that each coat comes with a butterfly lining. They are all hand made and we try to use natural fibres in as much as is possible as they tend to be more pleasurable to wear than synthetics.

Once you have tried a coat, we find that customers just keep coming back for more, and we treasure our customers and hope that they will enjoy all the new colours and designs we keep creating.
